CIPS Global seeks to collaborate with Daystar University

[Nairobi: August 14, 2025] Daystar University, through the Daystar Leadership and Professional Development Institute (DLPDI) hosted officials of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Logistics from the United Kingdom.
The team which was led by the CEO, Mr. Ben Farrell was received by the Ag. DVC-ARSA, Prof. Samuel Muriithi, at Daystar University Nairobi Campus, AD3. The meeting discussed possible collaboration between both institutions, with a focus on digital marketing, eBooks, and building an academic community through training and webinars..
Prof. Samuel Muriithi gave a presentation about Daystar University highlighting the vision, mission, ethos, academic programs and a brief history.
He reiterated Daystar’s willingness to collaborate with CIPS towards achieving mutual growth.
Reacting to the unemployment crisis in Kenya, Prof. Muriithi said exchange programs, trainings and webinars provide Daystar students with exposure and networks across the globe, thereby creating rewarding opportunities for them.
CIPS-UK CEO, Mr. Ben Farrell, MBE, expressed his sincere admiration of Daystar University for its remarkable commitment to ensuring students are up to date with the industry trends through the PBL mode of learning which he observed creates room for critical thinking. He labelled the PBL approach as progressive as opposed to outdated traditional one-way lectures with endless impractical theories.
Speaking on the partnership, Mr. Farrell highlighted CIPS’ global impact with 98 accredited universities globally, hence embracing Daystar University as a significant partner for further progression.
In his brief remarks, Vice Chair, CIPS-KE, Mr. Joshua Simotwo, thanked Daystar University for the warm reception and championed the need for working together to greater heights.
Other members present in the meeting included the Director of DLPDI Rev. Dr. Patrick Musembi, Professional Programs Coordinator, Mr. Michael Opok, Consultant, CIPS, Christopher Morris, Chairperson, CIPS-KE Joshua Gitoho, and Vice Chair, CIPS-KE, Mr. Walter Simotwo.
