The pastors' training and Daystar Sunday initiatives are is led by Projects Manager Mrs. Coretta Ndunda.  The twin events marked the beginning of a strong and promising partnership rooted in capacity building and spiritual growth.

The training equipped pastors with practical and theological knowledge and laid a foundation for continued collaboration between Daystar University and Coastal churches through short course training.

During the training, Mrs. Coretta Ndunda gave a presentation highlighting Daystar University's academic excellence and the purpose of Daystar Sunday. She underscored the importance of partnerships between Daystar University and churches, to uplift communities through tailor-made short courses and educational opportunities.

The training was facilitated by the DLPDI Director, Rev. Dr. Patrick Musembi- and Director, School of Theology, Prof. Benard Boyo.

Rev. Dr. Musembi further introduced the concept of the “Church Boom”, a model aimed at equipping ministers to strengthen their churches and communities. He shared how similar partnerships, including a US-based church collaboration, resulted in significant growth, producing over 50 pastors serving globally.

Pastors were also given an opportunity to share their ministry experiences, highlighting how their churches have grown through fellowship, evangelism, and member engagement.

Dr. Musembi also emphasized inclusiveness in ministry and addressed misleading cultural practices, particularly gender inequalities, stressing that church growth thrives where all people are valued and included. He reinforced this teaching through the parable of the talents, encouraging pastors to faithfully use their gifts to advance God’s Kingdom. He further encouraged pastors to take risks rooted in vision and to conduct SWOT analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats within their ministries. He emphasized strategic planning and clear vision as tools for sustainable church growth.
